Kept safe.
Kept useful.
GENERAL DATA is the IT department for small and mid-size businesses. We manage your devices, secure your network, back up every byte, and answer the phone when something breaks - for a flat monthly fee.
One flat fee.
A whole IT team.

Every service below is included, bundled, or added on - always at a flat, predictable monthly rate. No surprise invoices, no hourly meters running.
Managed IT & Monitoring
24/7 monitoring of workstations, servers, and network gear. Automated patching, asset inventory, and proactive replacement planning so hardware fails on our schedule, not yours.
Cybersecurity
Managed endpoint detection and response, email threat filtering, MFA everywhere, dark-web credential monitoring, and quarterly phishing simulations with staff training.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
3-2-1 backup strategy: local, cloud, and immutable copies. Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace included. Documented recovery plans tested twice a year.
Cloud & Microsoft 365
Migration, licensing, and ongoing administration of Microsoft 365, Azure, and line-of-business SaaS. We right-size licenses so you stop paying for seats nobody uses.
Compliance Support
Practical help meeting HIPAA, PCI-DSS, and cyber-insurance requirements: policies, evidence collection, and the technical controls auditors actually check.
Unlimited Help Desk
US-based support by phone, email, and chat. Average first response under 15 minutes. Your team talks to the same small pod of engineers every time.
How onboarding works
Week 1: discovery and audit. Week 2: security baseline - MFA, backups, endpoint protection. Week 3: documentation and help desk go-live. Week 4: roadmap review with your leadership. Most clients are fully onboarded in under 30 days.
Start onboardingBuilt for Main Street, not Wall Street.
We specialize in businesses with 5 to 250 employees - companies big enough to depend on technology, but too small to justify a full internal IT department.
Accounting & Legal
Client confidentiality, document retention, and tax-season uptime. We secure practice management software and keep e-filing moving when deadlines hit.
Healthcare Clinics
HIPAA-aligned infrastructure for dental, medical, and therapy practices: encrypted backups of EHR data, access controls, and business associate agreements.
Manufacturing & Logistics
Shop-floor Wi-Fi, ERP uptime, and segmented networks that keep production machines isolated from office threats.
Retail & Hospitality
PCI-compliant point-of-sale networks, guest Wi-Fi done safely, and multi-location support from one help desk number.
Construction & Trades
Field teams on tablets, office teams on desktops, one secure cloud in between. Project files available anywhere, backed up everywhere.
Nonprofits
Discounted plans, grant-friendly budgeting, and help claiming the Microsoft and Google nonprofit licenses you are probably entitled to.
Flat. Predictable. Per user.
Every plan includes unlimited help desk, monitoring, and patching. Pricing is per user, per month, with no long-term lock-in - 60 days notice to leave, any time.

The IT partner we wished existed.
GENERAL DATA started with a simple observation: small and mid-size businesses were being served by IT providers built for someone else. Enterprise vendors ignored them. One-person shops couldn't keep up with modern security. Hourly consultants had every incentive to let problems linger.
So we built the opposite - a flat-fee managed IT company whose only incentive is for your technology to be boring. When nothing breaks, we both win.
Today we support more than 120 small and mid-size organizations across the Midwest: clinics, factories, firms, shops, and nonprofits. Our engineers are employees, not contractors, and every client works with a named pod of people who know their stack.
What we believe
- Plain English. If we can't explain it simply, we don't understand it well enough.
- Flat fees. Surprises belong in birthdays, not invoices.
- Backups are sacred. A backup that isn't tested is a rumor.
- Security is a habit, not a product you buy once.

1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the generaledit.com website and the services offered by GENERAL DATA ("we", "us"). By using this site or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms. Managed service engagements are additionally governed by a signed Master Services Agreement, which prevails over these Terms where they conflict.
2. Services
We provide managed IT, cybersecurity, backup, cloud, and related consulting services to businesses. Service scope, service levels, and fees are defined in each client's order form. We may update tooling and processes over time, provided the agreed service levels are maintained.
3. Client responsibilities
- Provide accurate information and reasonable access to systems in scope.
- Maintain lawful licenses for software we are asked to manage.
- Promptly report suspected security incidents.
- Pay invoices within the agreed payment terms.
4. Fees and cancellation
Managed plans are billed monthly per user. Either party may terminate a managed plan with 60 days written notice. Project work is quoted and invoiced separately at fixed prices agreed in advance.
5. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising from the services shall not exceed the fees paid by the client in the three months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including lost profits or lost data beyond the recovery capabilities of the agreed backup scope.

1. What we collect
When you contact us through this site, we collect the information you choose to provide: your name, company, email address, and message. When delivering managed services, we process technical data from client systems (device inventories, logs, alerts) strictly to provide the contracted services.
2. How we use it
- To respond to your inquiries and provide quotes.
- To deliver, secure, and improve our services.
- To send service notifications and, with consent, occasional updates.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use client business data for advertising.
3. Sharing
We share data only with vetted subprocessors needed to deliver services (for example, backup and security platforms), under written agreements, and when required by law. A current list of subprocessors is available on request.
4. Security and retention
We apply the same controls we sell: encryption in transit and at rest, MFA, least-privilege access, and logging. Inquiry data is retained for up to 24 months; client service data is retained as defined in each Master Services Agreement and deleted or returned at offboarding.
5. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by emailing hello@generaledit.com. We will respond within 30 days.
